The most delicious food I have ever had! Every time I have ever gone, I was always met with a warm wonderful smile and the most extremely friendly woman I have ever met! I am so thankful that I got the chance to enjoy them so many times before they decided to embark on this wonderful journey to Japan and I wish them nothing but the best! ❤️
Always fantastic, without fail. The sandwiches always taste exactly as great as they look. Texture, flavor, color, everything. If Tokyo Sando doesn’t return, I’ll understand. But it would be our loss.
Tokyo Sando is the best Japanese sandwich spot in Portland. The owners are so kind and I’ve had almost everything on the menu and nothing has been short of absolutely amazing! Hoping they return to Portland one day! ❤️
Had to get some of everything! Karage was a get snack while driving to our destination. Went to forest park and then ate the sandwiches, both were amazing. The soup was perfect to keep us warm on the hike.
if you are gonna give tokyo sando a one star review just because you couldn't plan your visit accordingly, then your ignorant self probably didn’t deserve to be there in the first place!
tokyo sando holds a very special place in my heart. my boyfriend told me when the 4th season was announced that he would take me so i could try it. this was on our first date, we went at least once a month until the very end. every bite of my sando was as good as the first, so good that i always ordered the same thing! chicken katsu sando with black garlic <3 the only other item i tried was the black garlic miso soup, which felt like a warm hug on a cold winter day.
the owners are so kind, and generous. they made us feel welcome whenever we made the time to visit, they treated us like family.
i am so grateful that i had the opportunity to savor such delicious food. and i am hoping to try it sometime soon wherever they may go next. made with love always. arigato!
This was my final stop on my weekend trip to Portland, and was the best food I tasted all weekend. I would highly recommend the Naka Sando, which was a delightful blend of sweet and salty. We also tried the Egg Salad Sando and the Pork Katsu Sando, both of which were also delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and made the experience special. Looking forward to eating here again on my next visit to Portland.
Super great food, this truck serves up authentic Japanese style sandwiches with vegetarian options in the heart of Portland. We went here for lunch and had the miso pork katsu as well as the chicken namban sandwiches. They were both distinct in flavor, and tasted very fresh. The bread is super soft and seems pretty high quality. All of the other ingredients taste fresh and well prepared.
As far as the atmosphere, the wait is pretty bad. If you didn't pre-order, expect to be standing in a pretty desolate parking lot for an hour or more. The high quality of the food has led to high popularity. That means this business is selling out daily, so try to order ahead online if you can. Thankfully due to the crowd the area feels a lot safer than it usually would.
Overall, it's a nice option at a reasonable price. I would recommend this, but only if you order ahead. I would expect it's not worth the significant wait in line for a lot of people, especially in more adverse weather.
This food truck is worth the stop! Smaller menu with all options being high-quality staples. I enjoyed the Miso Katsu Sando last time I was here - it took around 8-10min to be ready. Sando was filling and had amazing flavor!
